\nOf Special note<\/span><\/strong> today from an event that occurred last week, the recent passing of Jess Accetta<\/h5>\n

\nCondolences to his loving family, and the many friend this gentleman has.
\nJess Accetta<\/a> in recent years was a band member and entrepreneur via SoundKingsUSA Amplifiers. Also more than a good friend to Shane, through SoundkingsUSA, owners Jess Accetta and Rick Marshal we’re endorsers to Shane O’Brien in our past. Jess and Rick developed the Shane O’Brien signature model amplifier called “The Rebel 35”. Since then, this has been Shane’s everyday amp, Stage, Studio and rehearsals. Shane’s do all boutique amp.<\/p>\n

Jess and Rick and their friend and bassman Teo Manzella had joined Shane in studio as well in 2008.
\nListen to “My Girl<\/a>” , not to be mistaken by the well known song of the similar title we all know of.<\/p>\n

This “My Girl” was written by all four of these musicians beginning with Jess bringing to the session his original beginning concept for a new song.<\/p>\n

Shane O’Brien <\/strong><\/span>The early Years:<\/h2>\n

These MP3 cuts are interesting in that they are from two earlier albums in the Shane O’Brien and O’Briens edge catalog. During the entire music catalog recording sessions there have been many great musicians who have generously shared their time and efforts adding individual talents that colored a wide variety of music genres.
\nEvery single musician that became the very best of quality in friends with Shane, knew exactly what they heard in his music and what they could add in the next sessions planned very soon after the introductions were out of the way. The two following tunes show the kinship’s made and musical sharing of an original language of music that will be a highlight in the O’Briens Edge library for ever.<\/p>\n

Up first, listen to music that was written by South Bay Guitarist\/Singer and Band Leader for over 40 years, Nicky “Shoes” Pizzale. His band called the Nicky Shoes Band had been a regular and well known band in all of the music venues in the Los Angeles South Bay communities. Nicky had his Band and Shane had his band, at times they both would cross paths as they had been booked at the same gig. That’s how Shane and Nicky met and it wasn’t long before Shane invited Nicky to participate in a session at the Jungle Studio. It was 2001 during the initial recording of Remember I Love You<\/strong><\/a> when the studio interactions developed between these two artist. What was to follow was both artists pairing onto tracks included in 3 different O’Briens Edge albums.
\nThis song here is titled “Little Angel<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong>” which Nicky recorded as a solo piece while Shane Produced the session.
\nIt is the first American Session that made it to publication for Nicky. He had a European release but nothing State Side until “Little Angel” [Track no.1 from the CD titled “Share The Vision” c2003 by Shane O’Brien and O’Briens Edge]. There are two Versions of this song on separate albums. This is the second rendition After hearing the first recorded version, Nicky had requested a session in which he would play his piece alone and Shane to capture and produce that session so Shane obliged…
\nHe had 40 years in the performance world of music behind him, but Nicky hadn’t emphasized too much efforts into recording or writing his own music until being introduced to Shane and his world of consecutive years of session after session recording his take on original materials. This would be the end chapter in Nicky’s music for everyone. So hence I thought it would be not only nice but appropriate to feature a track or two with Nicky Shoes and Shane O’Brien.<\/em><\/p>\n

Pink Noise<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/em> _ Original Version from the Shane O’Brien CD titled “Two Cuts Too Close”. Shane O’Brien writes a Blues Rock type tune on Christmas Eve 2004 as his New at that time Artist Manager looks on from the sound booth with headphones on. Funny part about this episode is that Philly was completely unaware that Shane was writing this song as a tribute to Philly. Imagine this picture, Artist in recording sound room just playing away at a song he’s surely inventing on the spot, about a guy who confident about himself and surely is a cooler than cool cat. Now imagine a slightly different flip side to this picture, in that the Artist’s Manger is looking and listening in to this session, with headphone on and a blasting away in his ears all the while bebop pin’ around from the songs beginning to the end.
\nNow the funny part. After the track was recorded, “one take” as usual of coarse, and during the initial play back with all parties involved in the sound room, it had been noticed by Philly that the song revolved around a day in the life of him. You know what, I must say he had that “Honored” look about him as I recall Philly turning towards me saying “Shane, what’s a pearl necklace?” That was enough to have everyone rolling with a belly laughter compared to none. A little Bit About The Following Music Link:<\/strong>
\nOn the same album [Two Cuts Too Close<\/strong><\/em>] that included our song “Pink Noise<\/strong><\/em>” was a track which was a particular favorite to Philly as he is a huge Johnny Winter fan. “Rain<\/strong><\/em>” originally on the Johnny Winter album titled “Winter of 88”<\/strong><\/em>. I don’t do anything like someone else does, not only because I really can’t, but that my approach to something I like so much is a flow of sorts with images I see that personally relate to a lyric that creates that one special spark. Enough that I’ll record it for what ever CD or Album I have on deck being worked on.
\nThe funny thing about this whole episode is that not long after that CD was finished and more and more folks had “Two Cuts Too Close”<\/strong><\/em> in their collection we were approached by two promoters with a proposition to open up shows for Rod Piazza and the Mighty Flyers, Charley Musslewhite and wouldn’t you know it, none other than Johnny Winter. As a gesture to Philly I made sure that it would be his signature on our Performance Agreement for the J. Winter Show in Hollywood.<\/p>\n

This is a piece written by Shane O’Brien<\/strong><\/em> while working in Lower Manhattan during September 2002.
\nTitled “New York City, What a Lady<\/strong><\/em>“, it represents some heartfelt sentiments
\nrooted deep and personal formed from the experiences of his LA\/NY summer. This song is a reflection of The friendships that are sure to be lifelong, O’Brien had been fortunate to have made between some quality members of the Ironworkers at Local 40, NYC, the Iroquois Nation Indians who welcomed Shane in their Raising Gang and the patrons of “The Hub” Bar in Union City, New Jersey.
\nBless all of you, and note that I am aware that I’ve been away too long and need to return to this wonderful city. The people there are first rate Americans in my book.
