Newest Song is writen and produced August 2013 from Shane O’Brien
Title: 1,000 Times Over
Author: Shane O’Brien
Song Description
A strong driving groove based acoustic/vocal track. Each of the songs by Shane O’Brien tells a story within their lyrics and music, this one is another prime example. Shane’s vocals are supported with him playing a Martin D28 acoustic guitar throughout the whole track, with an additional track using a 1962 Stratocaster coming into the final verse. The song is sung from the perspective of a caring friend who is a witness to the subject of this piece. The story revolves around recognizing a habit an individual has, and it’s not a good type. Particularly, it is one that is so very real in it’s nature and how it’s effects have caused noticeable personable changes in every part of that dear friend’s life. The end shows a sign of positive thinking via a prayer for self recognition and one more final change to come around…

It seems life has changed Babe. It seems like the worlds turned
Hum, it turned away
Seems like I got to hide Babe, seems like I got to lie babe
It seems like I got the world going away
But things have changed, things have changed
Things have changed, hum, hum. my Lord, they’ve changed
Things have changed, a thousand times
Things have changed, I don’t recognize anything
It seems like I had Balloons Babe, flying around me
Balloons with so many colors, so many worlds
And they popped in my mind babe, they popped in my veins babe
They popped in my brain babe, yes they moved me
Things have changed, I say things have changed
Things have changed, so many different ways
I ain’t lookin’ the same, hum, hum, I ain’t talkin’ the same
Things have changed, a thousand times over again
It seems like my hairs changed, like my face has grew long
It seems like everything, seems like everything’s gone wrong, gone wrong
It seems like my color’s changed, it seems like my pigment has gone away
It seems like my tan has gone away babe, it turned to gray
Things have changed, a thousand times over again
Things have changed ya, things all have changed
Things have changed, a thousand times over again
A thousand times over again, a thousand times over again
A thousand times over again, a thousand times over again ya
It seems like I thought the dream, as your lips move a range
Not listening, to what any man could say
It seems the looks of the face babe, ain’t the same as yesterday
It ain’t the same as I predicted anywhere you’d be
It seems like the color of the world, and the signs in the sun
Hum, hum, drew a little shadowy in my mind
It seems like a thousand times over and over and over and over again babe
Hum, hum, hum, you got me scared shitless babe
Things have changed, things have changed baby
A thousand times over and over again
You know things have changed, oh no, things have changed
Things have changed and I know, and I’ve prayed baby
Maybe they’ll change one more day, change one more time for me
I felt the need to add an “I Love You” type of song to conclude this particular post, just because…
That being said, this is from the Shane O’Brien and O’Briens Edge CD titled “Got Her Back” @2004. This track is titled Remember, I Love You
It is the original recorded rendition as Shane was actually writing this song while rolling the recording tape. As he had the idea going on, in the studio with him at that time were Nicky Shoes and Tony Sena. Nicky had the Stratocaster leed and Tony played the acoustic/electric Yamaha he loved so much and Shane played his Martin D28 and sang out his thoughts…
