The Story Behind The Song
“Blues at Area 52”

Music performed in a secluded landscaped get away, somewhere east of Lake Mohave and Laughlin on interstate 40 but west of Kingman is a little known place called Golden Valley. Anyway, I say “little known” in reference to my geographic knowledge.
Ok, so I find myself invited to play music with a collection of local talent that was amazing to me. “How in the world does anyone find anyone out here” I’m thinking? The place is so secluded and so spread out that you literally can’t see your neighbors homes because they are so far away and distanced from one another. “How do quality musicians find each other here? Who’d Da Thunk?”. That I would land in the perfect place, with the perfect people, and the best vibe, to share an afternoon of unrehearsed with no planned itinerary of material, to share the language of music together. And that last sentence says it all. What a blast!

Golden Valley, Arizona has some great residents there, and the kind of which, I will always remember with the greatest of appreciation. Some darn good musician man, well I’ll be damned, I better practice more in case there’s a next time… I wouldn’t want to miss another possible invite.
Oh ya, in case you Arizona men see this little description, please, I want to sincerely thank you guys for such a great day… Again I say “What a Blast”

All that being said, and like it or not, correct map location or not, I titled this little ditty “Blues at Area 52” by the Mohave Blues Commandos.
