NEW GERALD DESMOND BRIDGE UPDATE NOV 2018_JAN 2019 VIA LOCAL 433 IRONWORKER PERSPECTIVE
Re: progress at both shoreline towers 16 and 17

p>The following photos of the work being performed at Tower 16 on the Terminal Island side and tower 17 on the Long Beach side of the Port of Long Beach channel.

In the first group of photos notice that the construction progress of the road deck is advancing toward the center span. The erection of road deck sections is near completion over the land segments and advancing to work that will be over the ocean’s channel heading towards the halfway point. Note that this is a balanced cantilever erection method, in other words there is an equal amount of road deck being constructed on both sides of the tower. On the back span of tower 16 heading toward the piers of the approach, construction is soon nearing the halfway point.

This captures a time last spring when the fist pipe columns were erected facilitating the first section of road deck to be constructed

“The Bluesman” From the Shane O’Brien and O’Briens Edge CD “The SDT Session” [c]2003

More Music to Enjoy:

Here is a rendition of a Shane O’Brien piece of music titled “The Genuine One”
As much as this song is requested to be performed at live shows using a band format, this simple slow delivery hits home just as well thus it becomes slightly unique
